What Type Of Bridal Couple Would Like This Place?

In Temecula off of Rancho California Rd. there are around a dozen wineries on an 8 stretch of road.  Most of them offer wedding services.  Some offer service better than others but for the most part they are on par with each other in a lot of ways.   Most of them offer outdoor ceremonies and a tent reception.  By the time you get to the tent for a reception the view looks identical from one venue to the other.   To me the thing that sets the wineries apart are how their grounds look.  I really do think that Ponte has one of the nicest grounds you will find at any winery, and the bottom line is that this place is made for wedding photography.

Wineries are really for couples who know what the risks are for having an outdoor wedding ceremony.  You are exposing your guests to the weather conditions that are prevalent on your wedding day.  If it rains, or it's too hot, there isn't a lot you can do about it.   It's a risk, but the beauty of having a winery wedding.... nothing else quite like it.

Photographic Potential

The photographic potential is what really sets Ponte apart from other wineries.  I like how you can access the vines in the field, and the room with the wine barrels.  For a property that isn't that large  you get a lot of different looks within comfortable walking distance.  Therefore the photographic potential for Ponte Winery is off the charts!

Possible Distractions/ Work Around

There is only one thing that I have to warn people about, and this doesn't have as much to do with the Ponte Winery as it does with the geography. Temecula is a busy place, and they hold many large events that bring people in from all over.  Thus the 15 freeway at Rancho California Rd. does get very backed up in busy times of the year.  So, here's the deal.  Plan on giving yourself on half an hour from the time you exit the freeway to the time that you arrive at Ponte Winery.   Without traffic it's around a ten minute drive.  But you can usually count on very bad traffic. If you're coming off the 91 to the 15 traffic could be backed up by half an hour around this era as well on weekend days.

The only other thing about this place is that the Temecula valley can get very, very hot in the summertime.

Overall EvaluationRomance by the vines

Do you want a winery wedding?  They are very popular in the Napa Valley of Northern California.  The winery wedding experience is different from most other weddings.  it's hard to describe, but there is nothing quite like a winery wedding.  First of all, you are in a remote destination   It's not true with every winery but at least with Ponte there is  a ton of open space.   Not a golf course style open space where golf carts go racing by every few minutes, open space where you can see for miles without seeing buildings or manmade green.  Open space where the only thing you see moving around is the occasional bird, and you can hear the sound of the wind flowing through the vines.  Open space where you watch the hills light up a dramatic yellow as the sunsets for the evening.   Open space where the photographic potential is unlimited and each moment brings another opportunity for an image as beautiful light dances  at sunset,

Ponte is a winery, so of course they are very interested in their wine.  I am not a wine connoisseur and thus I cannot issue an opinion how good their wine is in regards to the other wineries in the area.  However, I am an connoisseur of wedding venues and this place has so much to offer photographically speaking that to me the winery aspect of the property isn't a big selling point.     Ponte winery is one of my favorite venues to host a wedding. The food is great, the staff is wonderful, the photographic potential is off the charts.  So, be sure to check it out!
