Engagement Portrait Options

Engagement portraits have evolved for us over the last decade. They now go two disctinc directions.  The first is the one iconic portrait of the bride and groom.  It's the one that that you'll find on your aunt's fireplace mantel when you visit.  The other is the backstory.  More than a portrait it's a session where the bride and groom interact with each other and use their setting and other props to tell the story of the couple in their everyday lives.

You would expect that the people who feel comfortable in front of a camera wouldn't be the first to volunteer to have an engagement portait.  Often with some coaxing from their fiance we have had an opportunity to work with these people and they learne a few things.  A lot of guys have had some very bad experiences with the department store photo studios as kids.  They were hit or threatened by their parents when they acted up  and then told to smile. Yeah, no wonder why they hate the idea!  What we do is a completely different experience, it's lighthearted and fun and nobody is going to hit them.  If they feel they don't photograph well, we try to figure out why.  Often this experience gives us a leg up on the wedding day which leads to even better images.

The Album Session (12 page enagement portrait album)-$500

The engagement portrait album has been a huge hit over the last few years we've offered it.  Instead of focusing one one image for an engagement portrait session the album has many images.  It's a bit of a love story inside of a book.  It's best suited for long form engagement portrait sessions where we go to the beach or some other location that the couple chooses and spend some time with each other doing more than portraits.  The end result is a fablous keepsake that you can take with you.  You can take it to work, or show the family.  Our clients have loved this option so much that they frequently change their Facebook profile image to that of the cover image of their album.  We've made hundreds of engagment portraits that have been framed and matted.  Sure, people like them, but nobody has ever been more pleased and excited about their engagement session than those who have recieved one of these albums.

The people who like this option ask for it by name.  We've made hundreds of these packages.  Since we are after one good image the sessions are shorter than for the album session.  We typically do them in around 45 minutes to an hour because we want a few different looks for you to select from.

Images on a DVD -Free (if you have booked your wedding photography with us)

Free, that's our favoriite price as well!  Wow, we have that in common too?  These are very short session, they take place close to us, and they usually take place on a Sunday or during the week.  The sessions are around a half an hour and when it's over we give you the high resolution images for you to go make your prints or use for your save the date cards or wedding invitations.
